Meet Our Team

Ruairi, Terence, Moya and Lauren. Meet the Team.

Ruairi Guckian

Owner / Director

Originally from Salthill and currently living in The Claddagh, Ruairi Guckian is a highly experienced and qualified HR professional, with both national and international experience. Prior to setting up GHR Consulting, Ruairi worked in senior HR Management roles for Crossrail in London and for Dubarry and Corrib Oil in Galway. Ruairi is CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development) qualified and has a B.Comm and a Masters in Corporate Strategy and People Management & Development from NUIG, and a Post Grad in Human Resource Management from London Metropolitan University.

He originally set up GHR Consulting as he noticed a requirement for SME's to have access to hands-on HR support to assist with the running of these businesses, without the additional cost of hiring an internal HR support. He recognised that business owners could save time and money on their HR and Recruitment requirements by outsourcing the function to a locally-based HR provider.

When not reading up on all things HR-related, you will find Ruairi running along the promenade or following his beloved Celtic and Ireland around Europe.

Terence Morgan

Head of Business Development

Terence is a native of Galway City, and brings over 25 years of business development experience to the GHR Team, including more than 10 years in HR consultancy sales with a specific focus on SMEs, and addressing their needs personally.

With such significant experience it's no wonder Terence is our ‘go to’ for employment law legislation. A strong believer in ‘company culture’ Terence works with businesses to cultivate a greater work/life balance across the company hierarchy, while maintaining strong productivity and an eye on growth at all times.

Terence’s work ethic ensures he puts blood and sweat into finding the best solution for our client, but makes a point of reserving his tears for his long suffering relationship with Galway GAA and his loyalty to Glasgow Celtic.

If you’re one for walking the prom you’ll often find him sipping coffee or dipping in Blackrock, all under the watchful eye of his loyal chocolate Labrador ‘Snoop’.

Moya Kilgallen

HR Consultant

Moya is originally from Belfast, Northern Ireland. She first came to Galway in 2017 to study for a Bachelor of Commerce at NUIG and she immediately connected with the city - and it;s people! Moya graduated with her undergraduate degree in June 2020 amidst the depths of the first Covid lockdown. She continued her studies at NUIG in September 2021, starting a Masters in Human Resource Management and went on to graduate with a First Class Honours in August 2021, no mean feat in what has been a challenging time for so many.

When she commenced her post-graduate job hunt, Moya wanted to find a position that allowed her to utilise her academic background whilst immersing herself in the modern world of work. Luckily for us, she thought GHR might be just that company, with just that position and we're delighted to have her on the team.

You'll often see Moya sitting on the prom policing slow walkers and ensuring a steady pace is maintained at all times.

Lauren Gallagher

HR Associate

Lauren Gallagher is originally from Sligo, but relocated to Galway in 2016 to attend university. After graduating with first-class honours in 2020, she worked in recruitment for a year before returning to university to complete an MSc. in Strategy, Innovation, and People Management. Not one to still during the pandemic, Lauren while studying for her Masters, decided to join GHR Consulting to increase her experience working alongside HR consultants and to build on experience from previous positions in sales and recruitment.

Lauren is actively working with onboarding new clients and assisting with the generally exciting duties human resources presents on a daily basis.

When not in the office Lauren is often found looking for missing or poorly addressed postage around the building.
