Tús Maith Leath na hOibre: Our Journey to Becoming a Bilingual Company
We are delighted to take the first step in our journey towards becoming a bilingual company. This week marks a significant milestone as we officially begin our in-house Irish classes.
Our commitment to embracing an Ghaeilge goes beyond just language lessons. It is about fostering a culture that values and integrates the Irish language into our daily interactions, both internally and externally. By incorporating Irish into our workplace, we aim to create a more inclusive and culturally enriched environment for our team and clients alike.
To further embed the language into our daily routine, we have also introduced a ‘Focal an Lae’ initiative, encouraging our team to learn and use a new Irish word each day. Additionally, we are thrilled to have our first Irish-speaking client, marking an important step in our bilingual journey. We are also working closely with Gaillimh le Gaeilge to strengthen our efforts and ensure our approach aligns with best practices for promoting the Irish language. As well as this, we have sponsored the referee’s dugout for Galway United, which now features some Irish as part of the design.
These initiatives are just the first of many. We plan to introduce further steps to ensure that the language becomes a natural part of our company’s identity. From small daily phrases to fully bilingual communications, we are excited about the journey ahead.
We look forward to seeing the positive impact of this initiative and encourage others to take steps towards embracing the Irish language in their own workplaces.
Slán go fóill – this is just the beginning!
